Piia Paemurru

PIIA PAEMURRU is one of Estonia's most esteemed ensemble partners, primarily for opera singers, but her concert activity has connected her with many outstanding musicians, such as Virgilijus Noreika, Jaakko Ryhänen, Margarita Voites, Mati Palm, Pille Lill, Aare Saal, René Soom, Priit Volmer, Helen Lokuta, Angelika Mikk, Kristina Vähi, Oliver Kuusik, Maria Listra, Karmen Puis, Pirjo Jonas, Dara Savinova, Maria Veretenina, Annaliisa Pillak, Tuuri Dede, Kadi Jürgens, Sandra Laagus, Annabel Soode, Atlan Karp, Simo Breede, Tamar Nugis, Raiko Raalik, Pavlo Balakin, Rasmus Kull, Reigo Tamm, Peeter Paemurru, Mari Tampere-Bezrodny, Andreas Lend, Aare Tammesalu, and others.

Paemurru completed her master's studies at the Tallinn Conservatory under the guidance of Prof. Laine Metsa in 1999, and she has been working as a collaborative pianist at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre since 1986. Since 2016, she has been the concertmaster at the Vanemuine Theatre.

Paemurru has also participated as a concertmaster in several Bavarian Opera Academy masterclasses and auditions in Germany. She has received special awards for best accompanist in various singing competitions, including five times at the Klaudia Taev International Singing Competition.
