Lily-Marlene Puusepp (FIN)

Lily-Marlene Puusepp started playing the harp in Tallinn with Zvenislava Sillamaa and graduated from Tallinn Music High School as a student of Eda Peäske. After that Puusepp studied in Helsinki under Marjatta Haahti and graduated with master of music degree in harp performance in 2005.

Puusepp has performed in many festivals: Musica Nova Helsinki, Viitasaari Time of Music, Tampere Biennale, Helsinki Festival, The Loviisa Sibelius Festival, Kymijoen Lohisoitto, Jyväskylä Festival, Crusell Music Festival, Hanko Music Festival and Pellinge Festival among other.

Puusepp has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Lappeenranta City Orchestra, Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, Seinäjoki City Orchestra, Avanti! Chamber Orchestra and Joensuu City Orchestra. In addition to Scandinavia Puusepp has performed in Central Europe, Japan and Australia. Lily-Marlene Puusepp has done recordings for Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE and several CDs.

Puusepp has given many first performances of contemporary music for her instrument and has been a member of defunensemble, a finnish contemporary music group that specializes in performing electroacoustic music.

As an orchestra musician Puusepp has been principal harp of Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and in addition to finnish orchestras she has performed with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and The Norwegian National Opera Orchestra. Puusepp has also collaborated with choirs such as Candomino and Helsinki Chamber Choir.

Puusepp teaches harp at Helsinki Conservatory, Juvenalia Music School and Vantaa Music School. Lily-Marlene Puusepp performs on a Lyon & Healy Style 23 concert grand harp funded by The Finnish Cultural Foundation, Alfred Kordelin Foundation and foundations of Sibelius Academy.
