Kaija Lukas
KAIJA LUKAS passionately recognizes the beauty and healing power of classical music and has dedicated her life to inspiring as many people as possible. She is an avid chamber musician, playing both the violin and viola in various professional ensembles across Europe, including The English Chamber Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra, and the Le Jeune String Trio. She has also played with the Pavao, Idomeneo, and Piatti String Quartets.
Lukas recently performed as a soloist with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and is a member of various chamber ensembles, including the newly formed Bridge Ensemble, aiming to explore new music, alternative performance venues, and bring fresh concert programs to audiences.
Lukas' journey began at the Rapla Music School and the Tallinn Music High School. She then earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, along with additional diplomas from Temple University in Philadelphia and Mozarteum in Salzburg.
She has won several awards in national and international competitions, including the "Remember Enescu" competition in Romania, the Aram Khachaturian competition in Armenia, and Estonian national competitions. Lukas is a regular member of London's Jigsaw Chamber Music Series. After living in London and later in Amsterdam for thirteen years, she is excited to have moved back to Tallinn to embark on a new journey here.
