Ivi Ots
IVI OTS obtained her Master's degree at the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki) and Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, under guidance of prof. Mari Tampere-Bezrodny. Prior to that, she studied with doz. Ivi Tivik at the Tallinn Music High School.
She is currently working at the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. Prior to that, she has worked with the Spanish National Orchestra and Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid (Teatro Real), among others.
Ivi has appeared as soloist with Estonian National Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony and chamber orchestras of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
She has recorded for Estonian Classical Radio, i.e. the violin sonata Op. 134 by D. Shostakovich with pianist Age Juurikas. As chamber musician and soloist, she has appeared in Finland, Spain, Germany and Russia, a.o.
Ivi has obtained the 1st prize and special prize at the International Heino Eller Violin Competition (2013), 1st prize at the festival “Musical Summer at the Mill” in France (2013), two prizes at the young Estonian interpreters' competition “Con Brio” (2010), and several prizes in different national youth competitions.
She is also active organizing musical events, being the author and artistic director of the Võru Kõla Concert Series and coordinator of several festivals in Estonia.
