Ivi Ots
IVI OTS began her violin studies under the guidance of Assistant Professor Ivi Tivik at the Tallinn Music High School. Later, she earned her master's degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and the Sibelius Academy under the supervision of Prof. Mari Tampere-Bezrodny.
Currently, she works in the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, having previously worked with orchestras including the Spanish National Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Opera in Madrid.
Ots has achieved award-winning positions in several competitions, including the 1st prize in the international Heino Eller Violin Competition (2013), 1st prize at the "Musical Summer at the Mill" international festival in France (2013), two prizes in the Estonian Young Interpreters' Competition "Con Brio" (2010), and several young string players' competitions.
As a soloist, she has performed with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, as well as with the symphony and chamber orchestras of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
She has recorded for Klassikaraadio, including Dmitri Shostakovich's Violin Sonata Op. 134, performed together with pianist Age Juurikas.
As a chamber musician and soloist, she has performed in Finland, Spain, Germany, Russia, and elsewhere. In addition to her performing career, Ots is active in organizing musical events and serves as the Artistic Director of the Tallinn String Festival.
